Overview

 

With the completion of WCC and the general contractor vacating Story Hall we will begin phase I of the Gropius Life Safety Upgrades (Story/Shaw), in preparation for our fall students return.  The work will be consisting of  Life safety upgrades – sprinklers/ fire alarms, Story Hall common area cosmetic upgrades and dormitory room improvements. All work will be contained to the respective buildings, with the exception of the site utility work, installing new domestic water services. This work is being coordinated with University Mitigation Office and the City of Cambridge.  

Project Schedule
Story Hall

• Site setup week of 1/30/12
• Project start 2/6/12
• Project Completion by 8/10/12

Shaw Hall

• Project start the second week in May ’12 (after students move out).
• Project completion by 8/10/12 ( Students moving back the week of 8/12/11).

Hours of Operation

• 7:00AM until 3:30PM ( Monday through Friday)
• 7:00AM until 3:30PM ( Saturdays) when  required
• Excessive noise is restricted before 9:00AM and during the student reading exam period. No work is schedule on Commencements day.
