Construction Activity Update
Week of February 8th, 2010
Construction Activities
- Reinforcement steel bar will continue to be installed for the future delay strip concrete placements.
- Waterproofing operations will continue to be performed on the exterior foundation walls located in the northeastern corner of the site.
- Flow filling will continue to be performed in the space between the foundation wall and slurry wall.
- Trucks will enter the site through Gates C and D on a continuous basis.
- Tiebacks will be de-tensioned to allow flow fill to be placed.
- Tarps will be used to protect the space between the foundation wall and slurry wall.
- Temporary heating pipes will be installed to support the flow filling operations.
- Some flow filling operations will be performed from Western Avenue.
- Shear wall openings in the ground level slab will begin to be covered.
- Lighting will be installed within the shear core areas that are being covered.
GENERAL ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Office and maintenance staff from 114 Western Avenue may be observed within the site over the weekend.
- Truck staging will continue to occur within the 108-110 Western Avenue parking lot.
- Police details will continue to be used to ensure vehicle and pedestrian safety at site gates and around the site.
- A street sweeper will continue to be used to keep the surrounding streets clean.
- Noise and dust monitoring will continue to be performed to ensure levels are below the approved limits.
- The pest control contractor will continue to perform routine monitoring activities around the site throughout the week.
- General clean-up activities and safety coordination will continue to be performed around the site.
- Winter weather snow removal and sanding/salting will be performed as needed. It is possible that snow removal activities may need to be performed over the weekend or before working hours depending on winter weather conditions.
